Garden Open Days

In Anna Buxton, Blog, Non Caley Events

News of a couple of gardens that are open to the public under Scotlands Gardens Scheme.  This is your opportunity to visit gardens not normally open to the public and get some wonderful inspiration for your own garden. You will also be supporting some deserving charities.

Redcroft: 23 Murrayfield Road, Edinburgh EH12 6EP will be open on Sunday 12th May from 2 – 5pm, entrance £5, children free and very welcome. Proceeds to the Caley Greenhouse at Saughton fund as well as Scotland’s Garden supported charities.  Caley members will know a little bit about this garden from Anna’s blog “Tales from the Garden” which features on the Caley website.  This is your chance to see it in person. There should be plenty of colour in mid-May from tulips, blossom in the orchard, rhododendrons and other flowering shrubs. Anna hopes that children will enjoy the new tree house. Further information from scotlandsgardens.org.

41 Hermitage Gardens, Edinburgh EH10 6AZ will be open on Saturday and Sunday 27th and 28th April from 2 – 5pm. This little-known garden belonging to Maureen and Tony Toft is maintained to an exceptionally high standard. It has very beautiful birches and well grown rhododendrons, camellias, trilliums, and tulips as well as an interesting rock garden. Further information from scotlandsgardens.org.
