Saughton Dig Day – 3rd November 2018

 In Blog, Saughton Park

The dig day at Saughton on Saturday was a great success.  We had good turn out of volunteers – from both The Caley and the Friends of Saughton Park.

Fortunately, the weather was kind to us and the rain held off.  We managed to accomplish a fair amount of work in the time we were there.  The paths through the Winter Border have been dug and now await a topping of wood chips.  Most of the trees and shrubs are now in place and some bulbs were planted. We even managed to top up the beds in the Friends of Saughton Park Physic Garden with the spare soil from the Winter Border so nothing went to waste.

Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it this time.  There will be another dig day in early spring when we will be planting the perennial plants. Information will be posted on the website.

Many thanks to all of our volunteers – we couldn’t have done it without you!
