What We Do

A core charitable aim of the Society is to advance education in gardening and horticulture for the public benefit. We seek to achieve this in a number of different ways, through lectures, workshops, sharing learning, providing advice, information and practical demonstrations.

The range of activities undertaken by the Caley is expanding.  We have:

  • a large demonstration allotment,
  • an office base plus different garden areas and a working glasshouse at Saughton Park,
  • a winter programme of talks
  • regular volunteer gardening at Saughton Park and on the allotment
  • short educational courses to help improve your skills, or learn from scratch;
  • a range of shows and events
  • plant sales and talks at Saughton Park
