“Conserving Scotland’s Native Flora” – Rebecca Drew, RBGE

1st October @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Rebecca will give an overview of the Nature Restoration Fund Project (NRF) funded by the Scottish Government in conjunction with Nature Scot. Over a period of 3 years, the team are focusing their efforts in the conservation of 10 Scottish native species which are at risk. Rebecca will present a background of the species they are working on, why they are at risk, why they were chosen for this project and how they are working to conserve these species to safeguard for the future.

Rebecca completed an HND in Horticulture with Plantmanship at RBGE in 2022.  During her studies, she volunteered with the Scottish Native Plants Programme, gaining experience in practical conservation work.  She now works as a Scottish Native Plant Horticulturist at RBGE, working alongside the NRF project.

Our talks take place in the Lecture Theatre at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. All talks will begin at 7.30pm. The talks are free and are open to non-members.  No need to book, just come along on the day. All we ask is that you make a small donation at the door or perhaps buy a raffle ticket if you can.  For those who have not attended a lecture at RBGE before, entry is via the main reception: 20a Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, EH3 5LR (not far from the East Gate).
