Growing Skills Workshop
2nd July, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
————FULLY BOOKED————
Develop your allotment growing skills
Learn the art of successful vegetable growing from experienced horticulturalists and allotment growers.
The Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society (The Caley) and The Federation of Edinburgh Allotment Garden Associations (FEDAGA) have come together to offer some practical, hands-on, growing skills sessions for new allotment holders and for those who simply want to improve their skills. The sessions are jargon-free and easy to follow no matter what your experience level. Our pilot programme is based at Saughton Park Ford’s Road, EH11 3HR. There are three morning sessions:
13th May – Preparing the soil and sowing seeds
10th June – Thinning out, transplanting, feeding, watering and ongoing maintenance
2nd July – Succession planting – keep your allotment productive the whole year round
Each session runs from 10am until 11am.
If you would like to come along we recommend you book early. Numbers are limited to 15 attendees to give space for individual attention and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We make a small charge of £5 for each session. This is a special, one-off price only available to those booking this first series.
To book send an email with your name, email address and the location of your allotment to education@rchs.co.uk . We will get back to you with details of how to pay.
