Sandra has worked as a professional gardener for many years, and is currently the head gardener at Longwood, a private country garden at 800 feet, with areas of wild garden, borders including roses, vegetables, lawns and woodlands.
In 2020 Sandra took on a new challenge while continuing to work as Longwood’s head gardener: supporting trainee gardeners through the Work and Retrain as a Gardener scheme (Working for Gardeners Association).
Sandra has supported career changers to make the leap from other areas of work to become professional gardeners, through her supportive manner, and desire to share her knowledge with the next generation of horticulturalists.
