A core charitable aim of the Society is to advance education in gardening and horticulture for the public benefit. We seek to achieve this in a number of different ways, through lectures, workshops, sharing learning, providing advice, information and practical demonstrations.

The range of activities undertaken by the Caley is expanding.  At the moment we have:

• a large demonstration allotment,
• an office base, different garden areas and a working glasshouse at Saughton Park,
• a winter programme of talks
• regular volunteer gardening at Saughton Park and on the allotment
• a range of short educational courses to help improve your skills, or learn from scratch;
• a range of shows and events
• More regular plant sales at Saughton will be introduced in 2025
