Allotment Growing Skills Workshop

In Blog, Saughton Park, Veg Growing, Workshops

The first of our Allotment Growing Skills workshops took place on Saturday 13th May in our Teaching Garden at Saughton Park. It was a lovely day and, as you can see from the photos, the workshop was one where you get your hands dirty!  Former Caley President Colin Ainsworth was on hand to give lots of practical advice on preparing your patch for seed sowing.

We have another two workshops coming up.  You don’t need to have attended the first workshop in order to attend the others.  Each is a stand alone workshop.  The cost per person for each workshop is just £5.00.  There are still a few places left, but please book early so that you don’t miss out. If you would like to attend, please email education@rchs.co.uk.  Both workshops will be held at Saughton Park.

Workshop Dates:

Saturday 10th June –   Thinning out, transplanting, feeding, watering and ongoing maintenance

Sunday 2nd  July   –     Succession planting – keep your allotment productive the whole year round

Each session runs from 10am until 11am.

The workshops are run in conjunction with FEDAGA, the Edinburgh Allotment association, and are open to everyone.  You do not need to be a Caley member to attend.
