Another chilly morning but wonderful clear blue skies at the allotment

In Allotment, Beechgrove Gardens, Biochar trial

This week we finally finished the dead hedge at the end of one of the more exposed beds so the vegetables grown in it will benefit from some shelter. Any prunings or stalks too hard for the compost heap will now be added to it over time. We continued with the willow windbreak and did another section.

Pruning Workshop

Pruning Workshop

The main job of the day was finishing off the winter pruning after the highly successful pruning workshop on Sunday.   Some of the people who were not able to come along then came to another arranged session today to see what was done and were keen to come back and see us at other times as we sow and grow throughout the year.

Looks like you had a productive day at the allotment and good to hear that lots of folks turned up to reinforce their pruning knowledge.
