“Cally Gardens – Plant Heaven”. Kevin Hughes, Cally Gardens

This talk by Kevin Hughes, owner of Cally Gardens, gives us an insight in to why Kevin took over the gardens in the first place and a look at what is planned for the future.

Cally Gardens and Specialist Plant Centre is a treasure trove of exotic and rare hardy plants gathered from around the Globe. It is a must see for plant lovers.

The towering 18th century walls shelter over 5000 rare plants all hand selected from their natural habitat by the famous plant collector Michael Wickenden. After Michael’s death the gardens closed for a few years and reopened in 2018 under the ownership of another plant hunter (and ecologist) Kevin Hughes. The garden is popular with modern gardeners as its natural feel is all about plants. The Living Lawn is of great interest to those who want an eco garden.
