Grow and Show Together This Weekend at Saughton Park, Edinburgh

In Blog, Events, Flower Shows, Saughton Sunday, Veg Growing

Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, we’d love to see you there.  The Caley and FEDAGA summer show is back at Saughton Park, and we can’t wait to see you. Whether you have dahlias to show off, perfect tomatoes that deserve to be shown, there is nothing better than celebrating together.

Do not worry if you have never shown before, this show is for everyone!  Perhaps these pointers will help.

The judges are not scary!  We have MT O’Donell from Scotland  Grows judging the flower entries;  Colin Ainsworth, a former Caley President as well as a regular presence at Saughton, judging the veg, and George Anderson, another former Caley President and Honorary President, but still very active with The Caley as well as on Beechgrove, to present the awards on Sunday.

Finally do not be put off by the national alarm due at 3 on the Sunday.  The awards will be presented at 2:30 and the prize draw drawn at 3:30pm!  (The alarm only lasts for 3 seconds!!!)

Key timings:

  • Staging at 9 – 11:45 on Saturday
  • Show opens to the public:  Saturday 1pm – 4pm and Sunday 10am – 3:30pm

Do come and see the show whether or not you have entered. The Caley events/talks calendar will be available to pick up.  Plus The Caley will be holding a Prize Draw, there will be a Pre-loved Book sale and a Plant sale. FEDAGA is hosting a range of stalls, Tomato tasting, Chili tasting, as well as Jam tasting, a display of heritage potatoes, a stall focusing on soil health and one on Tips and Tricks. Plus other stall holders will be Garden Solutions and Pip’s Cactus.

Lots to enjoy.

In case you have lost your copy – here is the schedule
