Poinsettias do not like draughts, dont like to sit in water and prefer indirect light rather than sitting on a window-sill.  It makes them sound fussy – but they should remain flowering for 4-6 weeks and can last longer – although getting them to colour again is tricky.

Chrsitmas Cactus are easy to grow and very long lived plants that flower freely between November and January.
