Keeping Up with The Caley: However You Prefer
The Caley has always been a society built on shared knowledge, experience and horticultural enthusiasm. Conversations at lectures, discussions around show benches, comparisons of notes on cultivation, that is our lifeblood. What has expanded in recent years is how and where those conversations continue.
Alongside our printed journal, e-newsletters and events, The Caley now shares updates across several digital channels. Whether you prefer to read in depth, glance at photographs of progress, or receive information directly by email, there are a number of ways to stay connected.
The Caley Website and Blog
Our blog is regularly updated with posts from the Caley allotment, George’s show-bulb progress, Caley visits and much more. Often, with the kind of detail and narrative that you do not always see in shorter social media posts. It is a lovely way to feel connected to what is happening across the Society, even if you cannot attend every event in person.

You can choose to peruse the blog over your morning coffee or have new posts delivered directly to your email as they are published. If you would like to receive an email notification whenever a new blog post is published, you can subscribe directly through the website.
Here is how:
-
Visit the blog: https://thecaley.org.uk/blog/
-
On the right-hand side of the page, you will see a box offering you the chance to enter your email address to subscribe.
From a post, you will see that box at the bottom of the page.

-
Enter your email address.
-
Click to subscribe.
-
You will then receive an email asking you to confirm that you would like to subscribe. You must confirm this in order to receive emails when a new post is published. If you don’t receive the email within half an hour, double-check your email spam folder, as it can sometimes be filtered out as spam.
Once subscribed, you will receive an email each time a new blog post is published. That means no need to remember to check the website, the updates will come straight to you. It is a simple way to make sure you never miss a post.
Follow The Caley on Instagram
You can also find us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecaley/
Instagram is a more visual space and gives a slightly different perspective on “Caley life”. Recently, it has been full of updates from new growers taking part in the Spring Show for the first time. They have been sharing their bulb progress, their questions, their triumphs and the fun along the way. We also post regularly to advertise workshops and events, as well as the odd photo to let you see behind the scenes.
The Caley on Facebook
For those who prefer Facebook, you can follow The Caley here: https://www.facebook.com/TheCaley
Facebook remains a familiar and accessible place for many members. It is another way to see announcements, event reminders and shared updates. If you are already active on Facebook, following the page can help the Caley news appear naturally in your feed.
Email Newsletters Still Matter
Of course, our email newsletters continue as usual and remain an important way of sharing more formal updates and announcements. If you haven’t received an e-newsletter, get in touch with Jillian, the Caley Administrator at administrator@rchs.co.uk to make sure she has your correct email address.

Following the blog and social channels alongside the newsletter simply adds more layers to that connection. It means you can enjoy the stories, photographs and in-between moments as well as the official updates and all in the comfort of your greenhouse or garden.
