From working as a Tesco Community Champion and helping out at a nursery school – to a full-time role at FARE in Easterhouse. Working with local schools who all have regular weekly slots with Susan. With the support from the RHS Community Gardening Team, Susan has been key in delivering the RHS ‘Grow to Eat’ programme, sharing skills and knowledge on how to plan, create and maintain a small productive plot at their local community garden.  Without Susan the Fare allotment would not be the same. A visit to FARE is always mind blowing. Nothing is wasted. From old hubcaps painted to look like flowers, to growing rhubarb and potatoes inside actual wooden bed frames, repurposing is key with them constantly finding new uses for old materials. The drum from a tumble dryer is planted with herbs and edible flowers and Henry Hoovers have been turned into planters.
