Spring has Sprung….

 In Blog, Spring Show

Spring has sprung and the days are lengthening and the nights shortening. Already there are Daffodils in full bloom in some of the gardens here in #sunnyjoppa. The growth off some of the pots of Caley bulbs seems to have accelerated somewhat and so one or two of them have been sat outside ( the Hyacinths, the Tulip and Narcissus Teal) I just felt that they were developing too quickly.

There were two flower shoots on one of the Hyacinth bulbs so the smaller of the two has been removed. The pot may not be suitable for the pot class but fingers crossed I will have a couple of flower spikes for the cut flower class. The pot of Tulips have been outside to keep them ticking over slowly.

There are a number of flower buds showing on both pots of The Scamp Challenge so with luck we will have a selection to choose our best bloom from.

The pot of Teal is well advanced and so has been sitting outside in the shade while the pot of Halloon has remained in the cold glasshouse. It also is showing flowerbuds.

The pots of Ballroom Queen and Precocious have both remained in the cold glasshouse and are starting to develop flowerbuds.

The pots will be watered and fed in the coming week. I use diluted Tomato liquid feed and water so that I just keep the pots moist so that I can control their growth more easily.
Keep pottering.

George
