Development Manager  (Salary: £30,000-32,000 ( pro rata); Hours of Work :  Initially three days per week (22.5 hours)

The Caley (Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society) is Scotland’s national horticultural and gardening  charity actively supporting and promoting horticulture throughout Scotland . We are looking to recruit a progressive and forward thinking Development Manager to develop and support the delivery of our three-year strategic plan. The successful candidate should have a track record of development and implementing change have previous experience of managing people, preferably within a horticultural or environmental setting. The post is initially being offered for a year with a possibility of a further two years and is based in Edinburgh.   The salary associated with the post is dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. We are particularly looking for an innovative thinker, networker and effective manager who is capable of delivering outcomes  and working alongside a small team of staff, Council Trustees and volunteers. The job has wide ranging responsibilities, the main purpose being to deliver the strategic objectives of the Society in supporting horticulture and gardening in Scotland.

Administrator (Salary: £16,000-17,000 (pro- rata; Hours of Work: Initially 2.5 days per week (18 hours)

We are looking to recruit an administrator to provide administrative and secretarial support to The Caley as part of the development of the infrastructure of the society. The successful candidate will probably have an interest in gardening or horticulture as well as previous experience within a small office team; evidence good organisational skills; be self directed and motivated; demonstrate good communication skills, dealing with a wide range of audiences and levels. Good written, verbal and numerical skills are essential. You will need a good working knowledge of MS Office and previous experience of operating information and retrieval systems.

The appointment will initially be for the period of a year with the possibility of an additional two years and will be based in Edinburgh. The salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. The job has wide ranging responsibilities, the main purpose being to deliver administration services in support of the strategic objectives of the Society.
