Caley Lecture – 3rd December 2019
Our speaker, John Marshall, describes himself as having spent a lifetime travelling in potatoes. He is a member of the Caley and we can vouch for the fact that he is an entertaining speaker.
The talk comprises a fast-moving photo show packed with potato stories and experiences from his journey in Peru in 2018. His adventures involved visits to Inca and pre-Inca historical sites, including Machu Piccu and the Parque de la Papa, with its potato fields at 4,200 metres. The potato park of 15,000 hectares was established to conserve the region’s potato diversity.
The evening will also include the Paperwhite growing competition, so if you bought bulbs from Pam earlier in the year, make sure you bring them along to be judged.
Our talks are free to Caley members and students (just show your student card at the door). Non-members are very welcome to come along to any talk, all we ask is that you make a small donation at the door.
We look forward to seeing you on the 3rd of December.
