First of the purple sprouting broccoli

A good day for a bonfire to burn up the waste wood and prunings. The Bridgend Farmhouse were pleased to have the willow prunings for craft use. The low hazel fence round the sweet pea bed was finished, the ground prepared and the canes put in for the sweet pea plants.

We picked the last of the sprouts and the first of the sprouting broccoli and there is still have plenty of kale, chard and a few leeks.

Jobs for next week

  • Another bonfire
  • Spread compost on the roots beds
  • Weed the remaining flower beds
  • Check the soil temperature
