Bulb planting time.

In Blog, Bulb growing, George Anderson, Spring Show

Today at Saughton while Apple Day was in full swing folk potted bulbs at the Spring Bulb Planting workshop.  The weather was dull but we were able to use the new working glasshouse to pot them before we plunged them in the sand bed.

A couple of other folk are potting and plunging at home including George (Anderson) who sent us the following message.

Well that is the Caley Bulbs potted up for the 2025 Spring Show. The pots will now go into the plunge until I lift them out on 14th February ( Valentine’s Day).  hey have been potted up into 2 litre pots in a compost made up as a mixture of a peat free and John Innes No1 with an added sprinkle of organic  potato fertilizer.

Happy Potting: George

With the evenings already drawing in and the clocks will soon be changing it is nice to have something to look forward to!  Although, if you are anything like many Caley members, there is still a lot to do in the garden.
