Catch up with George and his bulbs – 1st March

In Blog, Bulb growing, George Anderson, Spring Show

In Sunny Joppa the sun is shining and the first of George’s Daffodils are in bloom and the Caley pots are progressing well.

This is the cultivar ‘Euryalus’ an early flowering Division 1 – clear yellow.

The Tulip ‘Candela’ has now greened up completely and the leaves are unfurling. Narcissus ‘Arleston’ is already showing its flower bud and the pot of Hyacinth ‘Jan Bos’ is starting to show colour in the flower buds.

The Narcissus ‘Fairy Island’ , ‘American Heritage’ and ‘Angkor’ are also putting on good growth, although none of the pots have been given water yet. I will give them their first watering this week with some liquid fertiliser.

The two pots of Scamp Challenge bulbs have put on good top growth and will also be fed, but who knows which one will produce the best bloom?

How are your bulbs??
Only four to five weeks until the show.
Happy pottering

George
