Junior Groups Bulb Competition 2022

You might be aware that The Caley holds an annual Spring Bulb Show in early April each year, but did you know that we also hold a bulb growing competition specifically for junior groups?

The Junior Groups Bulb Competition is open to any nursery school, primary school or youth group such as brownies, cubs, junior gardening clubs, in fact any group that might like a bit of fun growing some daffodils in a pot.  Group members should be under the age of 13.

Entry requirements are very simple:  each group should enter 6 1 litre pots each containing 5 bulbs of a dwarf daffodil such as ‘Tete-a-Tete’ or ‘Jetfire‘. That’s it – very simple. If the group would like to enter some artwork to accompany their bulbs, we would love to see it.

We are excited that in 2022, the Junior Groups Competition will be part of our main Bulb Show at Saughton Park in Edinburgh.  Often, School Easter Holiday dates mean that the competition has to be held on a different date, but we love when we are able to include it as part of the main show.

It isn’t all about bulb growing though – there will be lots of other activities for the young folk to take part in; seed sowing, planting, art & crafts and much more.
