Monday morning was very cold but George is not all doom and gloom

It was very cold on Monday morning with -4C recorded in sunny Joppa.

I had lifted the remaining pots of bulbs from the plunge at the end of last week and they are now shivering in the cold glasshouse.

Some have done well while other have not been wholly successful but more of that later.

Iris unguicularis is braving the cold and producing a few flowers

and my plant of Daphne bholua Jacqueline Postill is still filling the air with its sweet perfume.
