Still going at the Allotment
Thursday was a glorious sunny day but there was still a chill in the air. The onion sets were planted, three rows of ‘Sturon’ and three of ‘F1 Centurion’. The bed for the sweet peas was cleared with the last pak choi harvested and the spinach and rocket plants moved to their new bed.
The new edible flower bed was dug over and the stones removed. Spring is definitely on its way, with buds on the blackcurrant and all the lovely daffodils beginning to bloom. The purple sprouting broccoli is developing well.
Jobs for next week
- Prepare the carrot bed
*The Allotment team will be working on the allotment whilst they are still able to. They will of course be observing all of the official guidelines regarding social distancing, hygiene etc. Do remember, you can still get out into your garden. Look on the positive side – it is a great excuse for getting outside for some peace and quiet by yourself!
