Successful Saughton Sunday

In Blog, Bulb growing, Saughton Park, Saughton Sunday, Spring Show

Our first Saughton Sunday event incorporated the Spring Bulb workshop.  This year, Pam included a beginners/taster session in the morning for those who had never planted up bulbs before.  Despite the weather, everyone had a good time and we hope to see lots more entries in the Novice Classes at the Spring Bulb Show.

In the afternoon we had the main workshop.  Although many of those taking part are experienced bulb growers, it was good to see a few new faces. It was especially good to see a few of our young gardeners taking part. There are special “Young Gardeners” classes in the Spring Bulb Show for them to take part in.  See the website for more details. Luckily, the rain has eased slightly but the wind was still pretty chilly, so it was good to have a bit of shelter.

Many thanks to all those who came along despite the miserable weather, you made it a very enjoyable day.  See you all when the pots are dug out in February!
