A warmer day on the Allotment

Finally a warmish spring day but the wet start on Thursday meant we didn’t have time to get the bonfire going or clear out the shed. The ground was also too wet to put in the onion sets. But the soft fruit was wired up, the rotten wood sawn up and a lot of weeding done.

The buds are beginning to break on the fruit, the kale wants to go to seed, and the allotment is a picture with the spring flowers. The last of the leeks were dug up today and with (hopefully) a few warmer days ahead, the sprouting broccoli should grow longer stems.
