Caley Winter Lecture – Nick Benge

15th November, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Rewilding – two small-scale projects in Edinburgh and Devon

Nick Benge has for years been coordinating biodiversity work in Edinburgh at Cammo Park. He recently bought 10 acres of Devon farmland and is in the process of rewilding it. This talk presents a description of the two projects and how the practical methods and basic principles can be applied to land, ranging from small gardens to large public spaces and fields.

Nick has a BSc in Ecology, a Masters degree in Aquaculture and 25 years’ experience of creating habitat for biodiversity. He was recently awarded a British Citizen’s Award having been nominated by local people for the work he does in Cammo Park. He also runs an Edinburgh landscaping company.

Our talks will be held in the Lecture Theatre at RBGE.   We do still intend to put recordings of the talks on our website for members who cannot attend in person. All talks will begin at 7.30pm. Our talks are free and are open to non-members.  All we ask is that you make a small donation at the door or perhaps buy a raffle ticket if you can. For those who have not attended a lecture at RBGE before, entry is via the main reception: 20a Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, EH3 5LR (just down from the East Gate).

As an added bonus, we have decided to live-stream this talk.  If you would like to join us virtually, please click here to be taken to the registration page.  A joining link will be emailed to you on the day of the talk.
