Some carpentry on the Allotment
A perfect January day for getting on with the winter maintenance.
Some of the wood on the raised beds has been in place for around 10 years and is now needing replaced so on Thursday we had a visit to the builders’ yard for replacement planks and then cut them to the sizes needed.
The plot has grass and woodchip paths. The grass is being dug back from the edges to help with the mowing and we are working on putting pavers down to keep the grass and woodchip separate.
And of course, still doing the weeding along the edges of the plot.
Jobs for next week
- Winter wash on the fruit trees
- Net the strawberry bed
- Tidy the sheds!
