Lecture – ” Planting Papas in the Para Para”. John Marshall, Fife

3rd December, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

John describes himself as having spent a lifetime travelling in potatoes. He is a member of the Caley and an entertaining speaker.

The talk comprises a fast-moving photo show packed with potato stories and experiences from his journey in Peru in 2018. His adventures involved visits to Inca and pre-Inca historical sites, including Machu Piccu and the Parque de la Papa, with its potato fields at 4,200 metres. The potato park of 15,000 hectares was established to conserve the region’s potato diversity.

NB: The Paper-white Competition will be held on this evening.

Our talks are free to Caley members and to students (just show your student card at the door).  Visitors are very welcome to attend. All we ask is that you make a donation to The Caley at the door.

Our talks are held in the Lecture Theatre at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.  Entry is via the main reception on Inverleith Row.
