Sunshine has made a difference

In Blog, Bulb growing, George Anderson, Spring Show

The sunshine  has made a difference. The two pots of Scamp Challenge which George took into the living room and sat in the window have progressed significantly.  The flower buds are quite obvious now and so they have been moved back into the cold glasshouse.

Meanwhile the pots of Hyacinths, (Pink Pearl, Delft Blue and Carnegie) and the Caley pots of ‘Miss Saigon’ and ‘ City of Haarlem’ are showing good colour and the flower pips are spreading out from the main stem so it is time to slow them down a bit. They are outside now in a sunny corner. They are perfectly hardy so light frosts will not harm them.
