Prep time on the Allotment
Last Thursday was a day for catching up with the weeding as we look ahead to the first of the plantings.
There has been a delivery of woodchip to the allotment site, so we weeded some of the paths and topped them up with woodchips. We covered some of the beds with cardboard in order to help warm up the soil and to stop the weeds growing. We also marked out the crop rotation for coming growing season.
The Brussel sprouts were taken out and there was a picking of small but hopefully sweet sprouts.
With the fruit pruning workshop fast approaching all labelling was checked and we had a picking of kale and swedes. AND we still have some potatoes left.
N.B. The Winter Fruit Pruning workshop is now fully booked with a waitlist in place so we cannot take any more bookings. Many thanks for all of the interest in this workshop.
